ABOUT
Baby, we're in lockdown .... again
I set up Leslie & Rosie in 2012 as a creative project for my imminent early retirement from a busy career in local government communications.
Oh boy, was it a steep learning curve. I had to learn how to build a website and keep it up to date, juggle multiple social media feeds, maintain accurate accounts, market myself and horror of horrors, go out and sell what I made.
This creative journey was initially inspired by the urban landscape of my adopted home town, Dunfermline. Since those early days I have taken inspiration from many other sources - the colours and textures of the local environment, the Fife coast and the creative workshops I attend to refresh and develop my ideas and skills.
My processes are varied and include screenprinting, mark making, drawing and monoprinting both on paper and fabric. It's a continuous learning process and I'm always improving and experimenting with new techniques and colour palettes.
I'm often asked who is Rosie. The answer is simple, my sister.
Peace be with you.
