Baby, we're out and about again ...
I set up Leslie & Rosie in 2012 as a creative project to keep my brain active and my fingers nimble.
Oh boy, was it a steep learning curve. I learned how to build a website and keep it up to date, juggle multiple social media feeds, maintain accurate accounts, market myself and horror of horrors, go out and sell what I made at fayres.
I don't go out and sell direct so much now. I leave it to the lovely independent shop owners to do that on my behalf.
This creative journey was initially inspired by the urban landscape of my adopted home town, Dunfermline. Since those early days I have taken inspiration from many other sources - the colours and textures of the local environment, the Fife coast and the sharing of ideas and processes at the creative workshops I attend to refresh and develop my ideas and skills.
My processes are varied and include screen printing, mark making, drawing and mono printing both on paper and fabric. It's a continuous learning process and I'm always improving and experimenting with new techniques and colour palettes.
I'm often asked who is Rosie. The answer is simple, my sister.
Peace be with you.
